The Great Indian Political Circus

Image
Greetings! ladies and gentlemen, I am Vertika back with another rather 'to-be-expected' writeup, yet another day has passed and the great Indian political circus has proved itself to be as entertaining as ever. Where else , if not in the great land of India would you find leaders in a democracy say , “Did what felt right, will keep it up” and before you accuse me of targeting one party, how could I forget, “We should avoid use of computers and English in India” and the multitude of such ridiculous statements made by leaders of all parties alike. But for the sake of living in the present lets talk about the recent entertaining acts that would make anyone, with a twisted sense of humour , laugh off their seats. However, this humour is for the select few who understand it to be so, because what else could it be? 1 - Renaming spree (The Contortionist Of The Circus) Be it Allahabad to Prayagraj , Faizabad to Ayodhya , or Gurgaon to Gurugram or the proposals to rename Agra ...

Kerala Flood : Trouble in Paradise

Image
Late July, 2018. What seemed to be an unassuming day for most of us, would soon convert to living nightmare for the residents of Kerala.  Out of the fourty two dams, thirty five had to be opened. For the first time in 26 years, all five overflow gates of the Idukki dam were opened at the same  time. Hi, I am Sayon Bhattacharya and welcome to Hexarius. Let's read on and understand the nature of the situation and what we can do to prevent and recover from this tragedy. To better understand the gravity of the situation, let's break down the situation into discrete points and analyse them, starting with- 1. Cause:  Perhaps unsurprisingly some of most educated member of our government, to the likes of recently appointed RBI Board member, Mr Gurumurthy, may think that women's entry to the Sabrimala temple and presence of Christians and Muslims have caused the flood in Kerala, well that's far from what's true. Kerala received incessantly huge amount of rain ...

You will be baffled once you understand the understanding of something so ubiquitous yet revolutionary. Read on as we unravel the secrets of the wheels the drives the 21st century and it's people.   Hi, it's me Vertika. I am back with yet another article, one of a long series that too. Being a tech enthusiast I was initially drawn towards talking about the new gadgets and wonders. But it dawned on me that almost all of us talk endlessly about gadgets without even understanding what makes them work. What is a Snapdragon 835 chip? Snapdragon 835 and its components What does it mean when we say that the new iPhone comes with 4 GB of RAM? How do we attain such high speeds on super computers? Well calm down, we will answer all that. Now if you have come this far and not just...

National Economics in the Global Theater: A Brief Retrospection

Image
Greetings dear readers, my name is Sayon Bhattacharya. My heartiest wishes to all the readers and warm welcome to Hexarius. Read on as we look into the fiscal disparity contributing to nations being rich and poor. So, without further ado, lets unveil the truth behind the perpetuity of poverty. As of 2018, there are some 196 countries in the world out which the top 20 nations are very rich meaning, having the average per capita income of over $ 100,000 per year. On the far side of the same spectrum we have the 20 nations where the per capita income is less than $ 1,000 per year or under $ 3 per day. ( Source ) Looking at the growth charts one might believe that all nations are on the path to grow, but the poor ones are growing really slow. So much so that if Zimbabwe continues at it's current growth rate, it is projected that Zimbabwe will only qualify as a rich country in 2722 years! The question that we should ask is why some countries are more successful and oth...

Frontiers of The East : Indian Fundamentalists.

Greetings lovely people of the Internet and welcome to another post on Hexarius by none other than Ms (name redacted). Alright so today’s post might be a bit too outspoken and very "Deshdrohi" (Anti-Nationalistic) of me, however that would have been true only if the writers of our constitution made an error and quoted - WE, THE PEOPL OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a  SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST, NOT SO  SECULAR ,DEMOCRATIC  REPUBLIC and to  secure  to all its citizen JUSTICE, social, economic and political; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship ; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to  promote  among ... Instead of-  One might be led to believe that this is easy to read and comprehend So word has been going around about our country becoming a nation of bans, what's more intriguing is that it has found it's way into pop culture ! Now thats some next level #trending ! Now, ...

The Failure: Indian Education System

Image
It's everyday bro!  Hello lovely people of the Internet! Welcome to another post on the e-Magazine for millennial by millennial, my name is Vertika and I am from...INDIA! Yes the “beautiful” , “colourful”, “land of spices” , “diversity” , “festivals”, “beautiful buildings”...and broken and crushed dreams, student suicides , mental health issues, excessive parental pressure , and , I quote my teacher, “An obsolete education system that revels in its 'glory' of producing same stock of people every year” and...well,I must halt because shh even in a “democracy” I can’t speak about it unless I wanna get into jail or probably die or ... shhh  and while the introductory picture was  nasty, trust me, it's gonna get worse. Much worse. Idealism. Maybe some other day, I’ll gather the courage to talk about all of this, but for today lets stick to our wonderful or not so much , topic , “indian education system”. Well what should I say about this, except for if this th...

The Great American Problem

Image
Uncle Sam is watching over, beware.  There is a problem in America right now. In the olden days, back when the Kaiser was genuinely a problem, and not a meme on Hearts of Iron 4: Kaiserreich, people were informed on the country, and could trust their news source. Nowadays, it's almost the opposite, little less than half are unpatriotic, or 49% ( Official study ) , there is a handful who know the amount of states there is, and you can chose biased news sources like CNN, ABC, NBC or infowars and red wars for the right. Millennial liberals are starting to make it so that you can't challenge left wing opinions without being kicked out. Communists on college campuses can go virtually unopposed, and grow up as a communist, with no one to challenge their views and it's honestly frightening. Not only that, but people have been getting lighter and lighter skins against jokes and humour. There was a person at UCF who made an immigration joke, on Facebook ( Here ) mind you,...
