Frontiers of The East : Indian Fundamentalists.
Greetings lovely people of the Internet and welcome to another post on Hexarius by none other than Ms (name redacted). Alright so today’s post might be a bit too outspoken and very "Deshdrohi" (Anti-Nationalistic) of me, however that would have been true only if the writers of our constitution made an error and quoted -
WE, THE PEOPL OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST, NOT SO SECULAR,DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizen JUSTICE, social, economic and political; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among ...

One might be led to believe that this is easy to read and comprehend |
So word has been going around about our country becoming a nation of bans, what's more intriguing is that it has found it's way into pop culture ! Now thats some next level #trending !
Now, I agree its not very wise to believe things based on words by “Deshdrohis”
going around, so lets take a look into this matter. Along with this, another thing that seems to be #trending in India is, fundamentalism, hold up, before you relate ISIS or Taliban with this, let me tell you that this specific fundamentalism that I am talking about is ...
1. Freedom of speech in India
Now of course, speech is free in India otherwise I would've been shushing myself and
feeling scared to type my views! Oh wait! I do.
Thing is , in India, especially as modest “sanskari”(well mannered) women, we must shut the hell up and smile unless, lovelies, you want to be raped by some right wing fundamentalist who claims to better than ISIS and calls every Muslim a member of ISIS but ends up doing ISIS-like stuff for motives same as ISIS in a battle against “...those Evil ISIS Muslims...” and yet goes unnoticed , to give us our very first,
unlikeness to ISIS.
Now a person capable of lynching people seemingly gets hurt by words. And due to these very “fragile”, “emotional” and "heritage-loving" people, we don’t have freedom of
speech. No, its not just the fear of these people but also protection given by the government to the people if they get offended. What's more surprising is how easy it is for these "sensitive" people to get free thinkers "Deshdrohis" in a lifetime of trouble.
Given that their views fall in line with the majority or with the fundamentalist ideas floating around in the air. Now whats funny here is that, if you are one of the freethinker in making "Rebel", don’t even think about being offended, even if its a genuine reason because someone can get hurt.

2. Who are we ? (The Coveted National Identity)
As Indians we take great pride in being a land where unity in diversity prevails but how
true is that really?
Thing is that we Indians hate the truth if it is bitter and often times the diversity that is not tolerated is the diversity of thought especially a thought that exposes us with cold truth. That may be basic human nature but we Indians take it to a whole worse level by death threats rape threats and what not.
It seems as if we are just so unwilling to accept a reform, not realising that not changing along with the times to be better civilians and leaving the wrong beliefs is a road to downfall.
We are the people who are so insecure about their identities, their individuality that we take offense and get “emotionally hurt” by just someone’s words that too words that are not in line with ours.

people of The Republic of India. And we live in a country that is secular, that is
democratic, that cares for all of its citizens, or at least is supposed to.
3. But what is the reality?
The reality is very different from the last lines of the previous points. Secularism and India just aren't a thing. Like Ross and Rachel, they're on a break. Period. And just like freedom of speech, democracy and India’s relationship status is set to “its complicated”.
Why?
Because of India cheated on them with fundamentalism.
In all seriousness though, it seems like some (by which I mean many) Indians took inspiration from “guardians of the galaxy” to become “guardians of Indian culture” and whats amazing is that they even use ancient weapons like swords ! Now how cool is that!
But apparently they just got one teeny tiny bit wrong, which is the knowledge of “Indian culture”.
As if that was not ignorant enough they have been murdering people for eating something they find tasty when it doesn't harm them at all, except for hurting their religious sentiments. One of the brightest torchbearer of our country, Shri Chetan Sharma says -
And don't you think that the Government is doing anything to stop these murderous riots. The Government one upped us all, and banned beef. Manslaughter is no crime compared to cow slaughter, no no no, not at all.
Well could democracy get any better! As it seems it could! Because its better to needlessly rename things and paint things in the colour saffron not in the name of fundamentalist ideas!
Seriously, “Not in the name of fundamentalist ideas”? come on, does the government
think we are this dumb? I do think that most Indians are aware of what is going on,
even though many are very happy with it (a.k.a. The Real Deshdrohis).

In August 2015, the Government of India banned access to 857 porn sites. Department of Telecoms notified Internet service providers to block access to these 857 URL s, under Section 79(3)(b) of Information Technology Act, 2000 (Source)As far as preservation of culture goes, the very culture our Government is so set on conserving, it gave the world the first known erotic literature, Kama Sutra, which is an ancient Indian Hindu text written by Vātsyāyana.

Cow is also the reason for global warming. When she is slaughtered, something called EPW is released, which is directly responsible for global warming. It’s what is called emotional pain waves.Ancient ritual texts known as Brahmanas (c. 900 B.C.) and other texts that taught religious duty (dharma), from the third century B.C., say that a bull or cow should be killed to be eaten when a guest arrives. 4. So what now?
As it seems we are heading towards a more fundamentalist and conservative, not “Indian culture”, future. A future, with which, surely, the Republic of India was not made. Now, no disrespect for our soldiers but I would end this post with the apology, demand for which which is inevitably coming my way because-
Siachen mein humare jawaan lad rahe hain. (Our soldiers are fighting in Siachen)--- Kunal Kamra : Patriotism and the Govt.
